Before we came home we had to stop and get the car a new tire. Oh that is a story from yesterday ... let me fill you in. See Dad and I went to the Rodeo and Mom worked. On her lunch she went and did all her background check and paper work to get the 22 for Dad. Well, I forgot to put Ranger out and that means he can get in with the sheep and if they are getting ready to lamb we don't exactly know what he will do. So Mom had to run home and put him out. On the way she got a flat on the car. Normally that wouldn't have made her the least bit mad but she was a bit upset when she figured out that she couldn't get the tire off to put the spare on because they nuts were on to tight. Anyway, this guy stopped and used his truck jack to help Mom and get her back on the road. And I did okay at the Rodeo!! LOL
Now back to today. When we got home Dad changed the oil in Mom's truck. Mom made a run to town to take care of Tax stuff, go to the post office and drop off some stuff by the extention agent's office. When she got home she went to work on all the windows around here. She cleaned all the ones on the truck, house and car. After that Mom let me take a break from my book report and go with her and Dad to try out the new 22 caliber. That new gun is so cool. It actually has a clip and you can fire one bullet right after the other. It is the first gun Dad has ever had that is that way. All our other guns are single or double shot but that is it. I even got to shoot it. It was really fun. After that I got back to my report and Dad went to cleaning out the show pen.
Then we had a little mishap. You see we put the little ducks out to play and well, one fell in a water bowl and then got to cold. Mom found it still alive and rushed it into the bathroom and set it up on the heating pad with a towel around it. As he warmed up he got better. We have now separated the Ducks into small, Medium and Large. The two largest white ones are now in the chicken coop. We intoduce them at night so they all just wake up and get along. Then there are three Medium size Black ones that appear to be one male and two girls. They are in the extra duck pond run. Then there are two tubs in the bathroom. One tub has the two larger little ducks and a chicken in it and the other tub has the two littlest ducks in it. (one has a hurt foot and the other is the one from today)
It was at this point in my day that I learned a new word. She came out of the bathroom after having to put the little duck she was warming back on the heating pad for the hundreth time and said "What a Goomba, that dang duck won't stay on his heating pad." It is at this point I asked Mom, "What did you call that duck?"Mom repeated it and I asked her what that was and she said Google it because to be honest she couldn't even remember what language it was from. That is one of the down falls from having a Mom that has such a mixed family and has been half way around the world and back. She knows what the word is to her but not what it is to everyone else. Anyway, She called my aunt and she told her it was Itailian. When I googled it I misspelled it as gomba and the internet said it was a mushroom or fungi. I can't even imagine why my Mom would call the little guy fungi so we then looked up Itialian Goomba and figured it out. After that Mom declared that today she was taking the rest of the day off.
I thought she was nuts. She was calling half froze Ducks Mushroom and fungi and now She took my little TV with the DVD playier in it to her craft room set it up, put the passion of the Christ on it and started warping that loom again. To be honest ... I think Mom does really need a day off to do what ever ... Maybe get some sleep or something ... She is a little off today ... Even for Mom.
Oh and somewhere in the middle of all that Mom was trying to figure out what to use this for ...
