What the day held

9/4/2012

So today was another normal quiet day.  Besides the daily chores and school work, Mom took time to hang out the rugs from the house and get them cleaned up for the winter.  Then we cleaned the show pen and made a place for my shearing table for the show lambs.  We also made a outside area for the birds from the show pen.  It is back up in the triple digits again.  Yesterday it was 116 at one point and today it was 111 the last time I looked before the sun started to go down.  There are two fans running in that pen but during the heat of the day it is just to hot for those birds.  In the mornings it is cooler ... In the 70s at least.
During the heat of the day Mom took time to clean the whole bathroom and I helped by cleaning the light shades and hanging the shower curtain after it was washed.  She even scrubbed the floor, washed the rugs and shower curtain and knocked the cob webs out of all the corners.
Twice a year Mom washes off the siding on the outside of the house and today was the day for that as well.  I helped do most of it.  I don't know why but The north  side always gets so dirty.  And there is always a ton of spider webs on both porches.  We also washed out the A/C units.
I then topped my day by writing to my Cherokee District Tribal Council Chuck Hoskin, Jr.  I wanted to help get funding for the 4-H bird shows.  They were backed by the Creek Nation but today we got an email saying they backed out before we even got to the first show.  So Since I had Mr. Hoskin's email address because Mom used to sit on the JOM board, I emailed him and asked for help.  He emailed me back and has talked to another Council member and they will be meeting about the issue to help the whole North Eastern District.  I hope the Cherokee Nation steps up and helps.  The kids around here need something to do and with so many programs being cut we need to save the ones we can.
I did fit in some riding.  I have been working Angel on the barrels again.  We are going to get her a job so that she will be trained for something.  Then Mom said she might think about finding her a forever home with kids that want to Rodeo.  If not Mom says she will have to take up riding Angel herself and we all remember the saddle issue we had last time ... LOL
And last but not least ... We have about 2 weeks before Hope's Cria makes it's Debut ... Sooooo .... There needs to be some name talk going on here.
    The Goats are muppets
    The southdown are Indian tribes
    The cotswold are Candy bars
    The shetlands are P names
So what will we start naming the Alpacas???  I would really like to keep them having registerable one word names but I don't know if that can happen.  Any Ideas???  What about cartoons??? LOL

Since alpaca fleece is so scrumptious, how about candy names...milky way, jolly rancher, lifesver, twix, peppermint patty, etc....
