Today's Agenda

6/7/2013

    Today I needed to get  a few things done.  First, I had to get all my tack, the horse and my Bible ready for Cowboy Rodeo Bible Camp.  It is a two day event that I attended last year and loved so I am going back again this year.
    I also worked on my yarn labels.
Due to the cost of printing and how many I will need for inventory I have now going to use paper wrap around ones instead of the business card type.  I think the wrap around label is perfect for the yarn as my banner is made from the same picture and It has the goats in it.   What do you think?

    The last thing I worked on was trying to find something for Mom.  You see She is knitting now and I want her to make something for the booth out of my yarn.  I was hoping a shawl but I am having trouble finding a really easy one on Ravelry.  If anyone knows a really easy one that is free on Ravelry that I could use to showcase my yarn PLEASE!!! post it here or let me know on any of the social media sites so that I can get Mom started.  She only has until July and she is a slow knitter.

Super easy Shawl Pattern: on any size needle: Cast on 3 row 1: slip one , yarn over, k1, yarn over K1.
row 2 & every even row: slip one, knit or purl whole row
row 3 slip One, K1, Yo, K1,yo, K2
row 5:slip One, K2, Yo, K1,yo, K3

keep going until shawl is as big as you want it, increasing by One on each Side of the center stitch on every other row.

as an alternative-if you don't want a line of Yo holes going up the Center, you can place your increases at the edges.

Cast on stitches in multiples of three - 54, 57, or 60. For example, if you use size 11 needles and cast on 54 stitches, 3 skeins of 'slightly bulky' yarn is enough. Some yarns vary in elasticity which will affect your outcome, as will your knitting tension. If the yarn you have chosen has a multicolored stripe, be careful when tying on a new skein. Make sure the color sequence is correct. Also, tie on the new skein in the body of the shawl, instead of an edge, as the ends tend to show.

* First Row: k3, p3, to end

* Second Row:
Always start the next row with the opposite stitch of what you see.
For instance, if the first stitch on the needle is a knit, then start with a purl.
KNIT THE PURLS AND PURL THE KNITS!!!

It should NOT look like ribbing.

Note: If you cast on 57 stitches you will always start with K3

I volunteer the use of my sweater.... If it's done, that is! Lol. I'm thinking if frogging the sleeve and making them short or 3/4 length. I usually push my sleeves up anyway, so this should cut down on the time it takes. Of course, that means I have to work on it & I'm working on baby stuff right now. Hmmmm. I think I have a dilemma! Don't count on my contribution, but if its done, you can borrow it!

I am working on a very simple shawl, it is called Wingspan and is available for free on ravelry, it is all knitting, tell mom there is no purl, no stitch or row counting. Might be just what she is looking for:)

Love the label - I think this is a great picture with you, the dog, and the goats.
