Tid bits ....

5/6/2013

Okay, so Mom went to get Hersey today ... While she was gone, Dad and I worked on one corner of the equipment pen ... We are recycling old pallets to make the fence goat and sheep proof.   We have pipe fence but the goats and sheep keep getting in between the pipes.  At first we put up field wire but found after some time the flock would find a way to push through and make holes.  So the old pallets make more of a wood fence and it is just wired to the pipe fence and it works to keep everything out of the equipment pen.

Okay so it isn't pretty but at least the sheep and goats can't get cut up on the equipment we have for haying.  Stuff like the 9ft sickle or the brush hog.  Anyway, after that we went to work the fence line.  We work fence twice a year once in spring and once in the fall.  By the time we got done it was time for lunch. So we ate and then lost our modivation.  Okay, we just got to watching TV and being lazy and since Mom wasn't home we just didn't do anything else.
By mid afternoon Mom was home With Hersey. She is in love with that little girl. I have to admit she is sweet .... and at 5 months old she is just a bit bigger then the Quads and Trips that are 3 months old so they all fit together nicely...
We did take a few cockle burrs out of her fleece but that is fine. We got them now and She won't be getting anymore because we spray for them each year.  (Oh and yes she is horned not poled)

And when everyone sees her fleece we are all probably going to be kicking ourselves for not investing in her .... Check this out ...

I could absolutely eat up the cuteness! Hershey is a doll-baby and her wool is gorgeous!

Wendie is so beautiful. I hope her baby is the same color. Her warm brown is luscious!
