One of a kind Debut ....

3/23/2012

As everyone knows it had done nothing but rain for about a week now.  That means I have been cocked up in this house for about a week.  Yes, I spent alot of time on school work and I have raised both my science and my math to 77s so they are coming up slow but they are coming up.  Other then that I have just had time to think.
What did I think about??? Glad you asked.... Well ... I am thinking about A Fiber Christmas in July Fiber Festival.  As you all know it will be my first anything.  As in anything I mean me presenting my business anywhere but here.  It is my Debut to the fiber world I guess.  The thing is that I still haven't gotten my roving and yarn back from the mill.  So I have no idea how much of anything I will have to sell.  What if I have nothing to put on my table in my booth?  I know I will have the SouthDown products.  But what if that is all I have???  Well, as you can see I am worried about it again.
Now, for those that read about my Mom you know she would get tired of hearing about it and she would come up with a plan.  Mom is just that way.  She is the kind of person who will think on something and come up with a plan ... She always can find a solution.  Dad on the other hand is just the opposite.  If there is a problem it just won't work and he drops it.  Anyway, If you said Mom had a plan you would be half right.  She went to work finding me something little that I could make and have for the table.  That's right she came up with the stitchmarkers.  At least I will have those and a chance to get my name out there.
Here is where the Debut begins.... I took Mom's idea one step further.  You see it is great that I should have some product and the stitchmarkers but I wanted something to make me stand out and Mom had just the thing but she doesn't know it (and at this point she isn't sure it is something that people would like)  So I talked her into posting her one of a kind, available only through RJ's QTs ... Eggs.  These aren't just eggs though.  These are special eggs.  You can't eat them but you can look at them.... They are made of real egg shells and they can be made in many colors or natural.  Standing on a base of wood when you look inside you will see one of two things, a sheep with a lamb by her side or a goat.  Mom hasn't been able to locate babies to the goats or she would have babies in with those too.

I can't get the picture to come out really good because the lamb's head is also white and it blends into the Mom's hip.  Here are some she has made in the past check them out....

For the record that is really little rocks in that egg ...

So here is the deal .... They will come natural or in your favorite color and you can choose Goats or Sheep and if you get a sheep you can choose to have a lamb or not with it.  They will cost $15.00 and that includes shipping and handling.  Mom even has three glitter colored paints, if anyone wants their egg dusted with rose, blue or green bling... Mom says if anyone is interested she should be able to get them done in time for Easter if she doesn't have to many orders ... You can just email Mom Here and she will make a link on the Farm page as well.

And this part is just for KarenGTM ... She thought that the secret under my hat was my haircut so here it is ... Mom is just happy to be able to see my eyes again.  The picture is a bit blurry because it was taken with a cell phone but you can see that I got it all cut off....

I love the eggs -- especially the one with the bird in the nest and the fish. Hmmm... I would have to think of somewhere to put them where they wouldn't get broken.
