Not for the weak

2/4/2013

You know I don't say this very often ... for one thing I really do enjoy my lifestyle and for another because Mom says it is uncalled for but .... TODAY SUCKED!  First, I ended up having a partial root canal on the same tooth that I had filled last week.  I know I should be thankful that I am not all that bad off anymore but after 5 hours in the dentist chair I am rethinking that.
When I got home Dad and I had that tractor tire on the flat bed trailer to get fixed.  Well, we took it to the shop and they think they got it fixed.  With a tire that size there isn't a real way to check it other then wait a few days and see if it holds.  If my day had ended right there I may not have declared that today Sucked .... But it didn't
If you have a weak stomach please stop here ....

So what is that?? Well, It is baby Storm's Leg.  Mom wasted no time getting her into a trailer and to the vet.  They had to drug her and it still took 4 of us to hold her while she got sewed up.

After she calmed down they got to stitching her up....

This cart it like an operating room on wheels ... Have operating room will travel ...
So what else is going on at our house.  Mom is upset because she thinks it is her job to personally keep every animal in her care safe at all times.  She even told the Vet "this isn't suppose to happen at my house.  It is suppose to be a safe haven for animals not to have things like this happen."  (She is upset to the point of tears but you can't convince her it wasn't anyone fault)  Dad is upset because of a rather large vet bill we now have to find a way to pay and I am upset that everyone else is upset over my horse.  I feel responcible for everyone being upset since it is my horse.  Not to mention I had to take a pain pill for my tooth so that isn't helping.  As I said before today officially Sucked .... Sorry Mom!

how many stitches? And do you have any idea how she managed this? Poor thing! And it's no one's fault! Accidents happen.

The Vet didn't count and I didn't like looking all that much ... We have no idea how she did it but it was dark when we got home I will investigate more tomorrow

Poor Storm! Although I think it hurts us just as much when one of our animals is hurting. Hope the leg heals quickly!

I'm sorry to hear about Storm's leg. These things happen. Bad days happen because everything can't be rosy all of the time. In fact, we wouldn't appreciate the great days if we didn't have rough days some time. Then we would take the great days for granted. All of these challenges you face each day are just ways that God helps make you stronger. Hang in there!

I know, My Mom says the same thing but it still doesn't make what happened to Storm easy to swallow... :(
