Mom, God got you a Goat ...

2/6/2013

I know that I lead a different life style but I have to say that this one is even weird for us... Today was Mom's Birthday and God gave Mom a Nanny Goat as a present.  No, we don't know if she is here to stay.  Here is what we do know though.  Mom went to work and I stayed home to keep an eye on Storm.  Her leg is a bit swollen but nothing to be concerned with at this point.  My day went pretty normal.  First I need to admit that I didn't get Mom's Cake made yesterday so I have planned on doing it today.  Well, My uncle called and wanted to rope so we headed to the roping pen and I still didn't get that cake baked.  So far so good, Right?? Okay maybe not good but at least Normal at this point.
Then Mom called to say she was heading home early.  Something had happened and there was something she was bringing home with her and she had to do it now.  Okay, that got me going.  I didn't know what was going on and Mom never leaves work except when I need her??  When Mom pulled up in the truck at the north gate there was something in the back of the truck.  I couldn't tell what so I just opened the gate and let her in.  She went to the man pen and got in the back of the truck and brought out this ....
Picture
I know it isn't a very good picture but the Batteries were dead in the camera and Mom was at the house when I got the picture with my phone.  Mom's phone has a better camera then mine but you get the idea.  Well, It turned out to be a Nanny Goat so Mom walked it over to the girl's pen and let her in.  Within a few minutes she had settled in and found her place in line with the other girls.
Okay, so I bet you are dying to know where she came from and why Mom had to bring her home.  First It is funny so get ready to bust a gut .... Dad and I already have.  And Mom has heard all the birthday goat jokes you can think of ... "getting you goat" is now a catch phrase around here.... Anyway,  Here is the story Mom told us about this "poor baby"  Mom was at work and the ACO got a call so he headed out to the West side of town to see what was up.  He was gone a long while and when he finally got back he came in with a weird look on his face.  Mom got up from around the desk and asked what he was bringing in.  He said that at this point he just had a few Questions.  She said okay but if you have something to bring in lets get it in while we talk.  The ACO wouldn't go to the back of the truck.  Mom asked "what is the problem?"  as she opened the back door to the truck to find .... You guessed it the Goat....  Mom's Asst. Just busted up laughing.  Paul the ACO looked at Mom and said "I wanted to ask you what am I suppose to do with this?"
After everyone chuckled a bit it came out that Paul is kind of scared of livestock that is why he sticks to cats and dogs.  Mom then asked for the story and she wanted all of it ... Turns out this girl which ACO Kept calling a Billy Goat, was at the old Wal-Mart Store and the Men working there had the doors open and she came walking in and got trapped between the two sets of doors.  She then started head butting the doors, which were Plexiglass thank goodness.  She didn't get hurt because she just kept bouncing off the glass.  They got her caught but the city isn't licensed to keep anything but Cats and Dogs so ACO had no place to take it.
Well, You know Mom.  She picked the goat up and put it in the back of her pickup and brought her home.  For the next three days she doesn't belong to us.  By Law she will become ours if no one comes to claim her by the 10th of this month.  Now, I ask all of you ... What are we going to call the girl?  She can't stay here without a name .... Any ideas.  Mom says not to even think of calling her anything like Wal-Mart or Head banger ... LOL  Dad and I had a bunch of names Mom didn't like but boy were they funny.  I will get better pictures tomorrow.
