Issues again ...

5/1/2012

Sometimes it feels as if everytime I turn around there are issues to deal with.  Mom says she hates Drama ... Are issues and Drama the same thing?  I don't think so.  First, we had the storms.  Mom calls it an issue and everyone else is talking about all the damage they have and wanting to get pitty or symplathy.  Not so in our house.  Mom says the storms were an issue and we dealt with it because that is life.  We did have a few things to repair but for the most part everything was fine.  Even the "Man hut" as we call it (which isn't steaked down or attached to anything)  Didn't get any damage.  The wind didn't even blow it over.  So yes, the storms were an issue but as Mom says no drama here.
Another issue is that a customer of Mom's called and said the calf for the auction that he takes part in to raise money for a mission trip to China to fix cleff lips in children had died.  Mom got on the phone found a new one in just a few minutes and instead of having the calf they had a photo of the calf to bid on at the auction.  Due to schedules we will now be delivering the calf Friday.  Another issue solved ... No Drama there either.
Our whole day went like that ... The little shetlands had mucus in their poop today... We found out that the herd we got them from had Barber Pole worm issues.  Dad called the vet, got the medication, wormed everything and again no drama here.    Paperwork for USDA Spraying program had an issue because of the dates on which to spray ... Took the email to USDA office they took care of it ... Another issue down and still no Drama.....
I also got a comment on the blog that my shearing video didn't show a picture.  Mom helped me remake it and it is uploading as I type this.  When it is done I will post it again and fix the link on the blog... Issue or Drama??  I say another issue.  I also got mail today.  It was my beads for my RJ's QTs stitchmarkers to go in every shareholder box we send out.  Not really an issue or Drama but I did want it to be my mail scale instead.... Oh well.  No issue or Drama there.
So back to my original question are these issues Drama?  Or is it just life?  How do you know the difference between drama and issues?  Or is it just the way you handle the issue that makes it Drama?? (or in our case that makes it NOT drama/)

What you described I would call issues. In my opinion drama is caused by people not using good sense. Like your situation with the goat who was treated badly. That was drama because it caused all sorts of icky feelings and was caused by people who didn't just do the right thing.

I think issues too. Drama is CREATED by people. Issues, like you said, are part of life.

Yup, these are issues that are part of life. And they've been dealt with (thank you). Drama, as noted, are issues that people are unable or unwilling to deal with and make into huge insurmountable mountains.

Now I get to go watch shearing! **smile**

I think you got it just right- issues just happen but drama is what you get when you don't deal with issues very well
