I got a bar in my room

4/6/2012

You know some days nothing goes like you think.  Mom and I set out today to get alot done.  I went with her to the shelter this morning so that when Mom got done at work we could get feed and stop by and get everyone a new pair of jeans for Easter.  Well, we did do all that but just not as we had planned.  First, there was a puppy that someone had poisoned.  There was No Vet in town and the police couldn't leave city limits to get it help.  So Mom being Mom stopped her work at the shelter, grabbed the puppy and took off to the next town over to get it some help.  The help came to late and the Puppy couldn't be saved.  It was horrible.  At one point Mom looked at me and said "Happy Good Friday to us, Huh?!"  she didn't really mean it so I looked at her and said, "You know the first Good Friday wasn't so happy either."  She said I was right and that sometimes I amaze her with my wisdom.  (That made me feel better)  I had to go with Mom because Mom didn't want to leave me at the shelter by myself but it WAS NOT fun.  When we got back to the shelter Mom finished up her daily chores.  Then we got a call from Ms. Karen.  She got me a bar for my room.  Man are we talking party or what??   Check it out....

So what do you think??  Okay so it isn't what you think.  Allow me to show you.  It is a bar but if you turn it this way ..... It is Long, solid wood, bookshelves.

And put it all together and you have me room.  If you remember Mom put in a different bookshelf that is actualy hers until I got mine.  So what do ya'll think?

We actually didn't go right home and do that.  While we were at the place Ms. Karen got the shelves at I found a kennel for Buddy my 14 year old Manchester Terrier. I am going to have to go back to kenneling him at night because he has gone to having accidents on my floor at night. This way if he can hold it he will if not we can just hose out the kennel. So we loaded both things up into the truck and went and ate lumch with Ms. Karen.  Then we headed out to get feed.  While we were picking up feed Mom also got the spray for the first round of spraying for the pasture.  We finally made it back to town to get the Jeans.
Even that didn't go as planned.  Mom wasn't in the best of moods because of the whole Puppy thing.  She hates it when people are mean to animals.  I don't know if I have ever told you how Mom believes but she believes that according to the Bible the book of Genisis tells us we are made by God's hands to be the Zookeepers and Gardeners of the world.  Everything else after that is to fix how badly we messed that job up.  Anyway, She has a hard time dealing with people being mean to animals and it just makes her in a bad mood.  Anyway, when we got to the store outside there were these two guys.  They had a sign that said traveling broke hungry.  And they had two dogs with them.  I know if you live in the city you see stuff like this all the time.  Not here.  It isn't seen everyday because our town doesn't even have a homeless shelter.  The closest shelter is in the town Mom went to to get the Puppy a Vet.  Anyway, Mom being Mom went inside bought 2 dog bowls, 4 cans of dog food, 4 waters, 2 sandwiches, some chips and some beef jerky.  She then headed over to where they were at.  I didn't want to go.  Mom looked at me and asked how do you know that isn't Jesus standing over there testing the world to see who will do the right thing?  And with that she march right up to them and told them there was food and water for them but that they needed to feed and water the dogs first!  She said it and she meant it.  This guy took one look at Mom in her work boots, jeans and stocking hat and he was not going to cross her.  She looked like she should have been a consturction worker or something.  I looked back a couple of times and saw them feeding the dogs.... I don't know if I should be proud of Mom or scared of her when she gets like that ... LOL.
By this time the afternoon was gone and Mom told me she just wanted to go home but she was going to finish getting things done.  So she marched right back in to the store and got everything we came for.  Then we finally headed home.  On our way we stopped and dropped off the check to Billy for  his shearing and his retainer to be our on call baby delivery service if we need him.  When we got home and unloaded the truck Where I went to ride and Mom got the whole yard mowed and weedeated.  She even mowed the camp grounds by the pond too.  After that is was dinner and then you saw what we did to my room.  Mom says tomorrow we will clean up the inside of the house and be ready for Easter.  What a day!
