Today, after my school work was done, I hung out with Mom. We picked up a few things we needed for winter. An extention cord for the duck's heating lamp and Bullets just to name a few. When Dad got home as always we headed to the roping pen but this time we had a friend with us. Our extention agent, Gage came and brought two of his horses with him. The first was his and he ran a few head off of him. He didn't catch much because he is a team roper and we were calf roping. After Dad and I ran some too, we got down to business. The other horse Gage brought was "Red". Red is short like me but he has alot of giddy up go to him. As a matter of fact, I got thrown. Yup, He bucked me off and I ate dusk. I Learned a few things out of the whole deal too. First I learned that no matter how well I ride Ice, it isn't the same when getting on a different horse. Second, I learned I have alot to learn and Ice is a real blessing. Him and I just understand each other. It must be the whole one man, one horse, one team thing Mom talks about. And I learned the difference between Moms and Cowboys, and it is a big one. When you get bucked off, Cowboys go to calm the horse. (Yes even my Dad) Moms, on the other hand go for the kid .... no matter how many times you say you are okay, they still have to see for themselves!
