Cookie Day

12/12/2011

At our house we have a tradition of Cookie Day... It is an entire day of baking and making.  We bake alot of cookies:
    Oatmeal
    Chocolate Chip
    Ginger Snaps
    Sugar Cookies
    Thumbprint Cookies
    Strawberry bars
    Peanut Butter Cookies
    No Bakes

Then we make:
    Peanut Butter Bars
    Carmel Popcorn
    Dipped pretzels
    Hello Dollies
    Fudge

I love this day ... I am the official Taste tester... We always have problems with one or two batches... Like this year the No bakes didn't set up and one batch of Chocolate Chip cookies were to hard and fell apart.  Oh well, I can eat them ... LOL  Mom said she might bake the no bakes to see if it helps.

Mom's popcorn it the best ... Dad eats most of it until Mom smacks his hands.... LOL

We sack each kind of cookie in a ziplock and then we take all those plastic containers we get fruits and veggies in and turn them into cookie containers.  First we line them with tissue paper.  Then we put in the many ziplocks of cookies and seal them back up.

After that we have a list that we take them to.
    City Hall
    The Fire Dept
    The post office
    The Garbage Men
    The post office
The neighbor that clears our drive and helps when the weather get so bad that Dad doesn't make it home
Dad's cousin down the road that helps when Dad doesn't make it home bacause of the weather
The County workers who take care of the county roads
    The Shelter where Mom works
The sale Barn that Dad and I work on Saturdays

Tomorrow will be delivery day if we get them all done ... LOL

And just so everyone knows ANGEL was out again today and is doing great.

Great tradition, and a great way to re-use and recycle the fruit containers!
