So I thought today would get better. I was wrong. I went to work normal enough. Only to come home and find that Dimples had given birth while I was gone. The baby wasn't cleaned all the way and wasn't alive. I don't know if me being here would have made a difference but I do think that I am going to give up on Breeding Angora Goats. I know I made a good product but without the herd growing I can't keep going. Mom still believes with all her heart that it is just another way that we are being guided to the Original RJ's Qts Designer sheep .... The Quads and the Trips. I am thinking it is time to sit back down and rethink this whole thing.
So today was supposed to be pasture rotation day after we took Angel to get her blood work done for her coggins and health papers. Yes, I used the word supposed because in true Straw Fashion it didn't work that way. First, the Vet visit and everything went fine. Angel loaded like a champ but my Dad's horse Cooper gave him fits. In the end all the horses are vaccinated and health papers done for another year. We got home went and got everything for the roping clinc gathered up and the food bought. All we have to do now is go set up Friday and hold the Clinic Saturday. At this point in the day Dad decided to go fixed the two horse trailer so that it will be ready next time we need to use it. After that the day went haywire. Mom got a call that construction for the roofs to the kennels at her shelter will start tomorrow. She wasn't quite ready so Dad and I went with her to finish everything so that there is no hold up in the morning. While we were there Mom picked me up Three of these .... They are three panels for my booth display but I have to clean them up and give them a face lift. When we got home from there I found that little Carmilla had given birth to a premature still born. I have no idea why that happened. I didn't even think she was bred and had put all three girls back in with the others. She had no bag or anything and she wasn't showing signs of labor. Mom and I are just stunned and can't seem to ask anything but why??? The ram was removed Dec. 1st so if the other two are bred they should birth no later then April 30th. We hope with better results then Carmilla.
Today is Bitter sweet as they say ... You see for the last two days I have been working on a Easter present for everyone but I have to tell you God came up with the most perfect ending all by himself and I couldn't have planned it if I tried. So Sit back and enjoy the Show and by the Grace of God you will soon see a very Sweet ending or two ... Just so you know it took youtube longer to get it posted Then I thought it would so I didn't get the blog posted until this morning ... Sorry
Well, my day started early. Okay so my day starts early to most all the time but this time I didn't get to go back to bed. At 3am feeding I found that Piper had given birth to twin black babies. They each have a little white tuff on their heads ... And since we have used all the batteries for the camera I had to use Mom cell phone to get the first shots. So here they are and guess what folks?? They need names that start with P. And you know the routine... They are in the barn under a nice heat lamp. I will try to get more pictures later....
