Busy Days ...

5/12/2012

These last two days have been busy around here.  First we got the 25 Chicks we ordered but something is wrong.  When we picked them up they were not as lively as they should be.  The owner of the Feed store said to watch them and let him know if anything was wrong.  As of tonight we have lost 15 for no reason.  They are all eating and drinking but they are just not thriving.
I had to leave my chick watch yesterday for Districts.  Ice place in 2 out of 3 events taking me once more to State.  Angel however didn't do good enough to place but she did great by our standards.  She is alive and competing.  Who could ask for anything more??
Ice hated having his ribbon on

Angel on the other hand wore it with pride....

When all was said and done I had two new buckets, a first place horse ribbon and a third place ribbon.

Today was another busy day.  I worked the sale barn and today through the doors come 4 Registered Cotswold sheep.  3 ewes and 1 ram.  The ram is a full brother to the girls so I didn't even bid on him but I got all three ewes to add to the QT Flock.  I will now wait to get the papers mailed to me and set out in search of a ram.  Mom said we would add merino sheep to our flock and that would be all but she has decided we can have Cotswold instead.  What do you think of the new girls....

Do you think Mom would buy the whole "It's your Mother's Day present?"  She is paying for them so can they even by a Mother's Day present if I am getting the money from her??
There is one very important thing going on here at the farm.  Today we saw that Juneau wasn't acting like himself.  We also thought he was losing weight.  What we discovered is that when we gave the A and D shots we got the dose wrong.  Charlie is having no side effects but Juneau is having issues.  The good news is that we are being told that all side effects should wear off in a few weeks.  In the mean time we are on high watch.  Which means that we are checking him every few hours Morning and night.  And on a good note he is still eating and drinking and urinating ....

Congrats! Ice is definitely giving the stink eye! That's wonderful that Angel is doing so well and the new sheep are gorgeous!

I'm sorry to hear about the chicks. :( Congrats on the buckets and ribbons though! And I love the new sheep! They are beautiful!
