And it's a go ....

So we have been working hard to get the Yard pen done so that Mom doesn't have to mow.  Well tonight for just a little bit this was the scene at our house.

Oh Sorry, I guess that wasn't what you were thinking ... The dogs did test it out for us but this evening when Mom got home we did get to turn the sheep out into it.  The lambs ran back and forth between the pasture and the yard pen.  It was so much fun to see ... They all ran and jumped and then ran back to the pasture.

They would come in and then turn around and run back out ... It was kind of funny.

There are two other things going on here on the farm right now as well.  First we are treating the entire herd for Coccidea.  That means that we drench the herd every morning with medication before they go out on the pasture.  Why you ask?  Well, while I was at the horse show the littlest lambs got sick and because I was gone from sun up to sundown and I had someone else doing chores for me it wasn't caught that they were sick until Sunday.  Quapaw and Cheyenne are still in the house and we are working to get them back on their feet and going good again.
The Last thing going on is that We found another Dorset and we are going to include the new ewe in the Carrie Clothes shares.  That means there were more shares available but they have all been spoken for.  The extra fun to this is that we are getting a yearling ewe that is already bred.  That means around the first of Oct.  We will have a new lamb arriving.  We will also have a new lamb in Mid September as the original Carrie herself will be giving birth to a little one of her own.  The Question is ... Will it be Chief's or Elliot's baby .... LOL
