The only problem was that if we told them what we were doing they would have told us we didn't have to and worse they would have told us not to. So we had to find some other reason to go to Billy's house. And trust me, you are going to love what God had in store as a way to take them the food.
First, You will need to know a few facts before any of this will make sense. Fact one - Billy has been a cancer survivor for 2 years. Fact two - Before he got cancer he breed and raised his own line of champion Sheep. Fact three - his sheep won him many awards. Fact four - this is the first year since his cancer that he has gotten back into breeding his sheep. Fact Five - He is in the middle of Lambing season. Fact six - with Billy going off to college and his Dad passed, Billy's Mom has to sell the farm and move to town. Fact seven - Billy needs to find a way to pay for college.
With all that said I had set out to find away to keep Billy's line of Sheep available to Billy without him knowing it. I hatched a plan about a week ago to see if I could get my hands on one of his ewes but it wasn't going to good. Here is what I did. I told Billy that I was looking for a lamb to raise for the fall fair. He told me that he had already got a buyer for his but he would keep his eyes open. Me? I raised my eyes to the Lord and prayed. As it turns out my prayer were answered by Billy having a bit more trouble. You see there was this ewe who threw twins and Billy couldn't get them to suck or the Mom to take them. Well, Billy called the buyer who said he wasn't really interested in the lambs or Bottle feeding anything. He really just wanted Bill's breeding stock. So Billy did the only thing he could do.
He Called the one place that takes bottle animals of all breeds. The Straw Farm! I told Billy we had room and we would come get them but he would have to hold them until tonight (that was yesterday). This gave Mom and I a day to cook and "get ready" for the babies. I asked Billy what he wanted done with the two lambs after they were weened? Billy said he really didn't know. So he called the buyer again and the buyer made me a deal. Since he didn't want to pay to have the lambs cared for he said If I raised them I can have one and he will take the other as part of Billy's herd. I told him I really wanted a ewe if it was possible and I was told I was in luck because they both were Ewes. Check these two out....
